I do not remember if I went to cirque in my childhood but together with my children I certainly did. As a grown-up it was the figure of the music clown whom I liked the most. We have a world-famous music clown Gabor Eotvos, the music clown of the Cirque Eotvos who invented the adage of “There is another!”. When I noticed this Slovakian stamp featuring the painter Emil Bacik’s oil painting of 1990 titled Music Clown with Trumpet Gabor Eotvos came into my mind at once as he was the one who made everyone to laugh ad even Charlie Chaplin was one of his admirers.

I have already made a picture of the world of the cirque by using a Hungarian series. This time I used this Slovakian stamp only.
