What can be the reason for my being obsessed by these tittle insects? I do not know the answer but it is a fact that this picture is already the fourth on which butterflies are in the centre. I was happy already in my childhood when I saw a butterfly or a dragon-fly in our garden but we were of course unhappy to get a single caterpillar appearing on the leaves of a fruiter.  Butterflies are not only nice to look at but they are very useful as well. They play an important role in getting fruits onto our table or in having the possibility to take pleasure in looking at the nice flowers as they play an important role in the pollenization process. The role of the bees is well-known for everyone but that of the butterflies is less known.

To paint the picture I used mainly Polish stamps but the greens of the background were painted with stamps of British issue.
