Four Szendrei pictures seen from the Raday Street
November 14th was the day of the opening of the second such Golden Duck exhibition in which I was also among the participants. Four pictures of very different character were exhibited among them my favourite Christmas related piece mad just a year ago, the one title Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar. The origin of this picture is also very unique: my husband bought a drawing featuring camels in a desert some years ago in Marrakech. The picture was unfortunately injured accidentally. I wanted to save something at least from the work of the unknown Moroccan artist so I cut the camels out of the drawing and built them into my picture symbolizing the three wise men.
The opening was a very friendly event again with many participants among the artists and visitors. It was good to see that other artists viewed my pictures with great interest. The exhibitions which is an art market as well will be open until January. I propose to everyone to visit the show where you can purchase exclusive gifts for Christmas. And here you can see some photos of the event:
The next city to go to after Budapest was Berettyoujfalu, the place of my childhood. We remembered to my childhood here in may ways as we held our meeting with my elementary school class-mates to commemorate the 50th anniversary of finishing the school on November 1. Remembering to our drawing classes nobody would think including myself that we would visit on this anniversary an art exhibition of mina along with other usual programs! (My strengths in the school were mathematics and chemistry)
Let me present here one of the pictures exhibited in Berettyoujfalu which was great success. One of the reasons for the success has a relation to my family as the bell which inspired me to make this picture was founded by my great-grandparents in honour to my great-great-grandparents. Gaborjan where is bell is is a small village near Berettyoujfalu. I spent much time in the summers here in my childhood with my grandparents. And here is the family-tree which is a Carillon in the same time:
An some more words from Berettyoujfalu as the organizers of the exhibition wrote history here. Many-many various exhibitions have been organized in the town for the years but there have not been any having a finissage in the end. This means that my exhibition titled To paint with stamps? Yes! I can do it! – Ten years to MoCoMo became to be a historic event here. We would like to express our many thanks for both the idea and the organization to Csaba Kocsis who as the leader of the Consort Koromvirag sang on the event and also presented me with a stamp collection even. On the next photo a group of the participants gather before my picture titled Year of the Dragon. This picture used to the major attraction of my exhibitions not only in China but in Hungary as well so group photos are usually made before this piece.
You will receive this newsletter on Saturday and Sunday will be the first day of the Advent period. I have made altogether seven pictures for my carrier with the topic of Advent and Christmas. I have presented the last one already so let me show you two more of the collection. The one titled Happy Christmas was made almost in the very beginning in 2015 while the other featuring the catholic church of our closer district Debrecen-Jozsa titled Christmas Lights was made in 2021.
This picture will be exhibited on the Advent exhibition of 33 + 1 artists titled Love arrives to our heart to be opened in the DAB Club on December 4. As Zsuzsa Cserep, organizer of the exhibition told “number 33 stays for Christ’s age while plus one means the person whon we bear in our mind. She added that it is also an aim to present always peces of new artists as well to enrich the show.”
The exhibition will be open until February 9 from 8.00 to 16.00 from Mondays to Thursdays while from 8.00 to 14.on Fridays (close on Saturdays and Sundays).
By presenting these pictures I wish a very happy Christmas to everyone! Should anyone amaze relatives or friends with a stamp picture write me please a mail to judit.szendrei1@gmail.com
