This month was really a very thrilling one. My exhibition organized to commemorate my ten years in art was opened just on the first day of the month with the title: To paint with stamps? Yes! I can do it! – Ten years to MoCoMo Art. We were glad to have Gyongyi Porkolab to open the exhibition as she was also who opened my previous exhibition in Debrecen in the Kolcsey Centre six years ago.
Neither of us have changed since for this period of time but one can find only three pictures among the exhibited now from those on show in 2019. Let me show you just one of them. This piece is one of my first pictures but maybe because its message is so up-to-date even now it has always been a great success of my exhibitions anywhere. Its title is SOS Nature:
The fact that the exhibition was held in Debrecen offered an opportunity to my friends and colleagues to come and see my pictures. Here are several photos taken with them:
Being a cinematographer, our friend Jozsef Varga made a resume of the exhibition which you can view on the following link: |
I would like to say a great thank you to Zsuzsa Cserep for the organization of this exhibition, to professor dr. Istvan Racz, president of the DAB Club for the venue and also a special thank you to Consort Koromvirag, who came from Berettyoujfalu for their very good song recital.
Along with their songs Consort Koromvirag, more exactly their leader Csaba Kocsis gave a big surprise to me. At the end of the ceremony Csaba approached me and asked what would I say if I received an invitation to exhibit in Berettyoujfalu as well. He told that he liked my pictures very much and thought that people in Berettyoujfalu would like them as well. I lived by the age of fourteen on Berettyoujfalu and visited my parents there even thereafter so what my answer could have been else, I agreed of course.
So I accepted the invitation and my husband made the exhibition to be a reality: he took of the pictures from the walls in Debrecen in the morning of October 20, packed the into the car and took them to Berettyoujfalu where they effected the hanging together with Csaba. Prior to this we visited the gallery to see how to arrange the exhibition. And now let’s see the photos made on this unexpected but very joyful event:
The link between the two events was Consort Koromvirag but the mayor of the city, Istvan Murakozi also visited the exhibition and delivered his greetings while it was opened by my old friend Lajos Ritok who is a painter. I was privileged to have at the opening event also Nora L. Ritok, the founder of the Pearl Foundation who is an artist as well. She greeted my with some very nice words and encouraged me to go on my way follow on what I have started.
There was also a very special reason to go to Berettyoujfalu: I met my relatives living there, my school mates and my former colleagues as well. The actual director of my former school, who is much younger then me, also came while the drawing teacher of the secondary school took her students with her as well!
I cannot simply imagine to have another so thrilling month in my future life, but one never knows of course! Let me come back for a minute to the Debrecen exhibition. You can sea on in the background on the photos above an interesting mosaic of mine, titled Revival of a Broken Zsolnay.
Fate arranged that we had the opportunity to great on the exhibition Petra Cseplo, one of the major shareholders of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufacture who along with the Zsolnay products pays a great attention to pieces of contemporary art as well. We had a very good conversation with Petra which can be the starting point of a fruitful artistic cooperation as well!
