Exhibition titled Traveller’s Art Fair organized by the Golden Duck Gallery in Budapest was held on August 8. Before talking about the opening and the exhibition itself I would like to cite the words of Catherine Varadi, the leader of the gallery about their credo.

“The major target of the Golden Duck Gallery is to offer support to artists. As we see the art market artists are in a very insecure position. It is awfully hard to get into the inner circle as most of the galleries work with a narrow circle of artists or they simply rent out their space which is very costly from the point of view of the artists and this practice does not secure a stable quality level either. We wish to change this practice. Our idea is to create a family of the artists around our gallery where artists feel well themselves and they feel they are well looked after with supportive hands.”

And here you can see some pictures of the opening ceremony:

Here are the most important photos, about which I will write a bit later:

Catherine Varadi, Alexander Varadi and their team did not only organize this nice exhibition and build it up but they handed over a “certificate to each of the participant artists and gave special prizes to those figured on one of these pictures. The other picture figures the handing over of my second prize by Alexander Varadi which I received for my picture Reminiscences of a theatre play. The third photo was made about me, my husband and the certificate at the winner picture

This picture is a unique one in my portfolio as It was made after a theatre play, we say in the Debrecen Theatre and when I made it my ambition was to offer a true reflection of the unique universe created by director Zoltan Balazs:

We have been successful in contacting Zoltan Balazs. Let me take some words from hie letter written to my husband:

“I would like to render my thanks to your wife Judit Szendrei for that wonderful piece she made and which reflects the universe created in the Puppet Master in a very inspired and sensitive way. It was a great joy for me to look at the picture again and again and detect new details and associations in Judit’s sorrow piece offering in the same time very strong feeling of love of life.”

In my newsletter issued in April I presented a picture made when my mother was still among us:

Some words written by me that time: ” She liked flowers very much. It was me who planted the flowers in the garden but it was she who hoed them, who took care of them. When she was already unable to do this work, she sat down in the garden and admired the flowers.

And some months later what else could have been better means t remember to her then tulips? These tulips painted by stamps offer to remember to her so that the upper piece contains also myself and her grandchildren as well:

As I wrote last time this year is a very special one in my life. When my first art piece was made ten years ago, I would not think that another 180 would follow it. I would not think that I would visit so many countries with my pictures and I would meet that many wonderful people by means of my art! And who would think that of that wonderful life and art activity followed my very first exhibition in the conference room of the company where I still work, Civis House?

The next step will again be made in Debrecen in the local centre of the Academy of Sciences. Many thanks for the organization of this event to Zsuzsa Cserep We would be glad to meet everyone who can come at 16,30 of October 1 in the Debrecen Centre of the Academy of Sciences to the opening of my third exhibition in Debrecen (Thomas Mann str, 49.) Those who cannot come this day can view the exhibition which will offer a kind of overview of my full portfolio.
